The most popular raw material for flooring profiles are plastic and aluminum. Also you may see floor profiles made out of brass, but these are less common. Here we discuss in more detail whether you should use a PVC or aluminum profile for your home or office.

The color matrix of floor profile ranges from silver or gold, to the ones of wooden appearance: dark or light wood. Lenght of the profiles is also various: in our offer you will find 90 cm, 100 cm, 135 cm, 180 cm, 200 cm and 270 cm. Widht of the profile ranges from 7 mm to 80 mm.

Floor profiles are found it two types of mounting: open-type and closed-type mounting design. The open-type is easier to mount using an opening it he profile and few screws. However, such a mounting desing is less esthetical than closed-type profiles. These are more difficult to mount, however they are more neat. There are also different types of mounting in the closed-type: using glue or adhesive strips that are already in place on the inner side of the profile.

Floor profiles carry different function, let's go through them:

To cover the edge of the floor, hence there exists an uneven transition between two areas or it is simply the edge of the floor. The same type of profiles are also used in the stairs, to protect the edge and to increase the esthetics of the stair.

At the junction of even surfaces. Nowadays it is common when the interios space designers combine various flooring types, such as ceramic tyles and wooden flooring, for example. Floor profiles help make the transition between different designs more natural and also protect the junction from the defect, dirt and moisture.

Also, there are profile with skid resistant elements: these are highly used on the stair, or in the kitchen or bathroom,  where the moisture is common.

Also, if there exists a small drop in the height between two floorings, there are floor profiles that are designed so that they appear plain, but they help make the junction invisible.
